Is your black hair dyed or natural. Just making sure it's not dyed because if it is you will want to go in and have it professionally done. I tried changing my color after black and I bleached. It bleached the roots and NOTHING else. But if it's natural good luck with the new do! I haven't dyed my hair in a while so I'm not sure about the drugstore brands now. I used to use Clairol and it always left my hair feeling REALLY soft and healthy rather than damaged like some brands.

My wife uses Garniea Color to make her dark hair red....it's really good she says. It keeps her hair soft and the bes part is that when she dyes it there isn't any of that amonia smell, the put a fruity oil in it to make it smell good.

Well, to go red from black you will have to bleach it first. I prefer natural products so I would probably recommend henna. hennaforhair.com has a lot of good info!

I'd recommend using bleach first since it's almost impossible to dye over black hair.

You look beautiful in your black hair. I prefer you to keep it. Its better for you to be pretty naturally than to be red artificially. Take care!
