I've always bought expensive shampoos, but am now sick of wasting the money, I am now using Lor

Will it really make a difference in my hair? I have heard that it makes no difference no matter what shampoo/conditioner you use.

I've always bought expensive shampoos, but am now sick of wasting the money, I am now using Loreal?

its true. the only difference between shampoos is the scents and the packaging. nothing else

are you happy with it, if you are then problem solved

I disagree.. The products that are sold at drugstores get no bonus points in my book! Im a licensed stylist and I will only use professional products... Alot of store bought brands are high on the pH scale alkaline (causing dryness etc) or they are very waxed based and cause buildup! Im not sure what product you were using before but if you need some suggestions I would be glad to help! I used Loreal way before I even went to highschool and definatley not a fan! Maybe im biased because Im a cosmetologist!

There's really no big difference. A lot of of shampoo/conditioner you find anywhere pretty much works the same as the expensive stuff..

If the shampoo is ph balanced you are good to go!

I remember the days when I used to go get a haircut (been a while, as you can see) that a stylist would ask what shampoo I used. I would tell her, then she went on a diatribe about how it gives wax buildup, it's the same stuff used to wash your car, etc.. And then the sales pitch for Paul Mitchell or whatever was on the shelf. And it was always much more than store-bought. Bet these stylists make a nice fat commission on each bottle, eh?

You're absolutely right...cheap shampoos and conditioners work just as well as the expensive ones, if not better. Not to mention...I used to work in a hair salon and often got products for free...They were such garbage and it wasn't just one brand, it was a few different brands.

To Nikki above...Comparing store bought products and salon products...I'm going with the store bought ones. And you're quite wrong about the buildup. That's all I ever had in my hair when I used salon products. It's kind of like...A%26amp;F clothing. They're expensive, but their quality is about as good as the quality you would get in a thrift store, Walmart or KMart. The reason it's expensive and "worth it" as some like to think...The TAG. If there's a big name on something, chances are it's going to have a big price as well, but not so much when considering the quality.

I find that even Suave is a really good shampoo and conditioner, as well as their products. I'd buy them over Matrix and Redken any day! In fact...I have Garnier Fructis in a conditioner...I cannot believe how crappy it is. $6 for a little tiny bottle and it does the complete opposite of what it says. Now I have a bigger bottle os Suave for $2 and it DOES everything it says, it doesn't leave my hair staticy, built up and dry like Garnier. So to the person below that said Garnier was best...I'm afraid you are wrong.

Gonna have to say it makes a big difference in the way your hair feels...I am sure they all clean the same but Loreal and Suave left my hair feeling "gunky"...try Pantene or something in that price range...not as expensive as salon products but leaves your hair w/ less of a "build-up" feel

I like Herbal essences...It's pretty cheap, but they have a lot of different shampoos with really good scents and stuff. They also have it with all different types like colored, curly, or in need of body (like mine!) and it's only like $4 a bottle and each one has a matching conditioner, you can get it at target or any place like that. Good Luck...oh- pick one that you really like becuase it works incredibly well.

I don't think it matters what kind of shampoo/conditioner u use. I've used different types of shampoos all my life and my hair doesn't seem to change much. When I used Garneir Fructis (however you spell it) it made my hair just a little bit of what it said like shinny it made my hair just a little bit more shinny but loreal should do really good no matter what kind of hair you have i used it even when i was a kid! (the kid stuff that don't burn ur eyes)but even when when i used the other loreal shampoo/conditioner it did really well on my hair so i do't think it will make a big difference really take my advice!! will u mark mine as best answer?

I'm fortunate to have good hair. I too tried the expensive shampoos like Arbonne and can't tell any difference between it and Pantene or Catwalk shampoo. Maybe I'll try Loreal next. lol lol

Sally Beauty Supply offers generic brands of lots of higher-priced products. The chemical contents are exactly the same as the more expensive counterparts....without the brand, at about 1/2 or less price.

Just make sure that it's pH-balanced. It's usually a good idea to change up your shampoo every now %26amp; then anyhow since your hair will get so used to one shampoo that that shampoo then becomes less effective (much like using the same medicine over and over will reduce its effectiveness, as viruses will get used to it and mutate to resist it).

Some shampoos I've tried, from best to worst:

Herbal Essences

John Frieda Sheer Blonde

^Best^

Garnier Fructis

Redkin

Pantene Blonde Expressions

Mane N Tail

Loreal

^Okay^

Pantene

Suave

^Worst^

I love Herbal Essences. I use the body building shampoo and conditioner and volumizing mousse. It really coats my hair and makes it soft and managable, not stringy and stiff.
