as it says in the title lol i look like a freak ! can anyone suggest a product to cover it up . or a colour that will neutralize it ? i put a golden blonde toner on it but its made it worse lol! x

You left it on too long.... But I guess you already know that....

Toner would have been my advice...But short of the obvious...Going to the hairdresser...

When I made that mistake when I satarted bleaching my hair... The hairdresser just used a pre lightener and then bleach, but you may start getting buring on your scalp if you over do it....

So, if you are going to experiment...Pre lighten it, leave it long enough, but stand in view of a mirror, so you can see whats happening....

then, apply a champagne blonde, (not ash blonde, else your hair will go grey...lol... been there, done that!) leave the dye for 5 mins, your hair will be very pourous....and it wont take long to work...

Then for the next 6 weeks, use a moisturising conditioning treatment once weekly to try get some moisture and reduce elasticity of your hair...

I would recommend using quite a dark dye as colour will not take very well after bleaching. Red is also a strong colour and should take quite well if you use a dark enough shade. Use a LOT of conditioner to protect your hair, as bleaching and dyeing is quite damaging. Either that, or buy yourself a new hat.

Probably even better is to just bite the bullet and get a professional haridresser to sort it out - at least you won't have to pay until they get it fixed.

same happened to me seemingly my brown hair has red pigments in it - get a brown dye and use it that what I did and it was OK. I still use the brown dyes even though I now have lots of grey pigment in it.

Ok, to try to neutralize the color, put in a dye/toner that is in the "natural" catagory. "Golden" shades make reds/yellows more prominet, so , that's where you went wrong, %26amp;, "ash" shade, well, most of the time you end up with hair that has a grey/green cast to it (ICK!)

Before you continue to make it worse on your own go see a professional colorist!!! Your poor hair must be feeling kinda burned about now. It may cost you a bit of money to halt the freak look, but, a colorist will do that plus do it the best way to keep your hair from being further damaged. Also, a colorist will tell you what type of products you can use to help your hair look it's best after all the trauma. Please go see someone who does this for a living.

As a hairdressers daughter and having heard some of the awful things that can happen (and having seen them) I would VERY STRONGLY advise that you visit a professional. They will invariably use something like Dia Colour on your hair (a professional toner) which will probably be in a mid to dark brown shade to correct the problem.

Do not (whatever you do) put anything else permanent on your hair until the orange hair has grown out without seeking professional advise. This could do serious damage or turn it another colour altogether!

If you have dark hair and you want to bleach it in the future definatley use a professional salon. I know it is expensive, but it very worth it in the end!

The same thing happened to me and i got advice online. I brought a semi permenant BEIGE BLONDE. It really does work, the problem is is does obviously wash out eventually but when you feel it looking orangy again just re apply it. It wont damage your hair as there's no bleach or peroxide in it, it just really tones down the orang, i was really impressed with the results. Dont forget BEIGE BLONDE, not ash as this makes your hair look greeny grey.

GO SEE A PROFESSIONAL and get it toned. The reason your golden blonde toner didn't work is because you put a gold-based color (warm) on orange hair (also warm) when you needed something cool to neutralize the warmth you pulled.

If you insist on toning yourself, then buy something SEMI-PERMANENT with an ash base. Putting permanent color on top of it at this stage is just asking for trouble.

I am a HAIRDRESSER you shouldnt have done it yourself for a start there are factors to consider go and buy an ash blonde put that on! trust me I am a hairdresser make sure it says ash it will kill the orange tones it wont look great as you did it your self but it will be 100% better

FYI you helped ruin the environment. Poison the water supply, polluted the landfill with and extra chemicals left in the original containers, makes wildlife sick and die. Think of your drinking water supply and the showers you take.

Think more cause and efffects/affects before you dye your hair.
