I got my license in '69 but never did it for a living. I had my hair frosted at a beauty college last week, the girl pulled the cap off before toning it...I wasn't mad...but I didn't get what I asked for. I ASKED for Platinum blonde...and I know what platinum blonde is suppose to look like. My hair was virgin until then. I want to do it again to get the platinum I originally asked for OR just do it myself...what products should I use to get the color I want? My hair is thin-ish and fine and LIGHT brown-dark blonde. I only want to have it streaked again NOT full head bleached. I know I need it pale yellow, but what toner color should I use? I have been searching on Google and looks like either Loreal Feria Hi Lift Ash Blonde#120 Platinum Crystal or Clairol Toner 323d Extralight Platinum would be what I am looking for. It has been SO long since I did anything like this to my hair, I need major advise..HELP ME !!!! I want to do this to my hair SOOOON !!!! like within a couple of days.

hi I am sorry to hear this, I own my own salon and if one of my stylists did this to a client I would be very annoyed, you are spot on what has happened here is the toner has not been applied that's why the colour is wrong, you need to find a Sally's hair store or a good chemist and buy the toner you need, follow the instructions and there it is Ash blonde

I have seen this happen many times with clients that have done there own hair at home, then came into the salon to have it rectified I would certainly complain to the College that did your hair, that is not acceptable and they should rectify it

well you are completely correct in that in order to get platinum highlights then you need to bleach streak to the pale yellow stage and then use a 10v toner. no OTC colour will get you to platinum, you DO need to bleach and tone. for toner i suggest Smart blonde platinum toner: http://www.smartbeautyshop.com/acatalog/... which is especially formulated for use on hair bleached to the pale yellow stage. DON'T use OTC like L'oreal, trust me when i say your hair will go orange as it is NOT formulated for use on anything darker than NATURAL dark blonde hair.
